Job Summary:
The Nurse Educator - Acute Care Specialist will provide support to our Acute Care services and the Education Resource Center. Under limited supervision, this individual will design, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs based upon adult learning principles. They will work collaboratively with nursing leadership and nursing staff to support nursing professional development and competency. This specialist will lend expertise to elevate nursing practice in service line and hospital-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop education programs for nursing staff
- Implement and evaluate education programs to ensure effectiveness
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and staff to support nursing professional development
- Lend expertise to elevate nursing practice in service line and hospital-wide initiatives
Requirements:
- Seasoned professional knowledge equivalent to a Master's degree
- Knowledge in more than one discipline
- Bachelor's in Nursing required, Master's required or enrollment in a Master's program within 2 years of hire
- National Certification required (Nursing Specialty, Nursing Professional Development or ASTD)
- Previous education/teaching experience preferred
- 3-5 years of RN experience
- Maryland Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association BLS certification
