Job Overview

At Wise Staffing Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Specialist to join our team. This role is focused on promoting public and community health by developing innovative strategies to improve environmental quality, safety, and sustainability.

This position will play a crucial role in strengthening processes for pollution prevention, clean-up efforts, and compliance with OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data, update procedures, and maintain records while ensuring the company remains in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with municipalities and government agencies to establish standard procedures and advocate for environmental policies. With a strong focus on employee training and development, this role will also involve creating and delivering training programs, maintaining records, and following up on corrective actions identified through internal and external audits.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Environmental Health Specialist will be responsible for managing hazardous waste shipments, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to strict guidelines. Essential Duties:

  • Advise departments on OSHA standards and ensure environmental documentation compliance.
  • Liaise with local, state, and federal authorities to address environmental and safety concerns.
  • Develop and implement training programs for employees, track attendance, and maintain records.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions on audit recommendations to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Manage hazardous waste collection, storage, and disposal procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead diverse teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Experience with SPC/SQC and RCA principles a plus.

Salary: $24.00 per hour (8am-5pm Mon-Fri)
