Job Summary

The Support RN provides direct nursing care and instructs LPN and Hospice Aide staff in delivering nursing care to clients.

This role involves performing 4-6 patient visits per day, depending on location and patient acuity, and may include 2-4 admissions per day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient physical and mental health, including reaction to illnesses and treatment regimens.
  • Record and report nursing assessment results.
  • Plan, initiate, deliver, and evaluate nursing acts.
  • Teach, assign, or supervise other personnel in implementing treatment regimens.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine patient-centered plans.
  • Implement treatment and pharmaceutical regimens prescribed by authorized healthcare providers.
  • Provide patient education and counseling.
  • Report and record care plans, nursing care given, and patient responses.
  • Supervise, teach, and evaluate personnel performing nursing functions.
Requirements
  • Valid NC RN license.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred.
Work Environment

This position involves traveling to see home, nursing home, and assisted living patients in Buncombe and surrounding counties.

Shift: 40 hours, Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM, with one weekend per month and rotating holidays.
