Medical Surgical Nurse Position

The Gundersen Health System is a leading provider of primary and specialized care in western Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota, and northeast Iowa. As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will be part of a team that focuses on the health and wellness of individuals, families, and populations in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Job SummaryThis role involves providing LOVE + MEDICINE to both inpatient and observation patients, working with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, social workers, dietitians, CNAs, and RNs. You will have the opportunity to care for a wide array of medical surgical patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, Cellulitis, Weakness, Infections, and medically stable patients.
Responsibilities- Assess patients' physiological, emotional, sociocultural, spiritual, and financial status while considering lifestyle preferences and learning needs.
- Develop patient-centered plans of care to promote health and optimize wellness in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Provide competent and innovative patient care and education based on patient complexity, acuity, and nursing judgment within a culture of caring and safety.
- Determine patients' progress toward achieving goal(s) and revise plans of care as needed.
- Minimum of Associate Degree in Nursing
- RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin upon hire
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
