Key Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across different teams
  • Experience managing multiple assignments simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Prior experience in-house within the oil and gas, energy, or renewable sectors is preferred
  • Proven expertise in maritime law is essential

Core Responsibilities:


• Offer legal guidance and representation to clients in matters pertaining to maritime law, including vessel transactions, maritime agreements, admiralty regulations, and marine insurance


• Manage a diverse range of civil litigation cases, particularly those involving maritime disputes, property damage, and environmental concerns


• Perform legal research and analysis to provide clients with insights on the interpretation and application of maritime laws, regulations, and case law


• Draft and review various legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and maritime-related paperwork


• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings, advocating for their interests in maritime and civil litigation


• Deliver strategic counsel and risk assessments to clients regarding potential legal conflicts, liabilities, and compliance matters within the maritime sector


• Remain informed about changes in maritime law, civil procedure, and pertinent legal precedents, integrating new insights into legal strategies
