Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year RN experience; Previous charge experience highly preferred
License: Registered Nurse License
Certifications:
- BLS
- NIHSS (preferred)
- EKG interpretation/ACLS (preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse on our Med/Surg TELE unit, you will be responsible for supervising and assessing patients with non-surgical health conditions. You will monitor patients with telemetry, handle common diagnoses such as stroke, COPD, respiratory issues and illnesses, Flu/PNA/COVID, GI bleed, renal failure (AKI/CKD), electrolyte imbalance, altered mental status, weakness, and non-operable fractures. You will maintain patient-to-nurse ratios typically 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 during the night. You will provide total care for less acute patients when necessary and collaborate and communicate effectively with the support team including CNAs, charge nurses, and other health professionals. You will float to various areas with Med/Tele patients as needed, within the scope. You will utilize Cerner for charting and use equipment like Alaris and Pyxis. You will adhere to hospital guidelines for professional appearance and conduct. You will participate in a weekend rotation and comply with holiday expectations.
What We Offer:
This position involves a supportive environment with resources such as 24/7 access to House Supervisors and Respiratory Therapists, and a Unit Resource RN when staffing allows. Orientation includes two days of hospital orientation and one shift on the unit.
