Position Title: Yogurt Production Associate
Reports to: Team Leader
Employment Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Union Status: Non-Union
Compensation: $18.00 / hour

Position Summary: The Yogurt Production Associate plays a vital role in our operations, supporting the team leader and specialists in adhering to yogurt production protocols while maintaining our stringent quality standards. This role involves learning and executing detailed procedures in hands-on tasks to ensure the taste, consistency, and cleanliness of our yogurt products. Open communication with the team and management is essential, as is contributing to a positive and energetic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to daily production procedures:
  • Learn and execute specific step-by-step instructions for each production process as directed by the Team Leader and Specialists.
  • Uphold a high standard of care in assigned tasks.
  • Ensure cleanliness throughout the production facility to maintain food safety and product longevity.
  • Keep a well-organized and tidy workspace to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Complete tasks promptly as outlined by production protocols and the Team Leader.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member:
  • Communicate any questions or concerns to the Team Leader and Specialists.
  • Pay close attention to the details of each production step to guarantee quality.
  • Adhere to the work schedule communicated by management.
  • Arrive punctually for each scheduled shift.
  • Take breaks at designated times during shifts.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed by the end of each scheduled shift.
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere for fellow production team members.
Specific Duties:
  • Carry out essential yogurt production tasks in accordance with established protocols:
  • Hand strain and whisk yogurt to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Pot and fill jars with yogurt and fruit preserves/jams.
  • Label and package delicate yogurt, related beverages, and other products.
  • Prepare ingredients for production use.
  • Accurately prepare and organize yogurt packaging materials.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and organization:
  • Hand wash and sanitize all equipment and surfaces during and between production steps.
  • Machine wash and sanitize all designated equipment and tools.
  • Keep equipment, supplies, and ingredients organized throughout the production facility and warehouse.
  • Follow food safety guidelines regarding product temperature during production.
  • Maintain personal hygiene standards in production, utilizing proper handwashing techniques and personal protective equipment.
  • Occasionally perform comprehensive facility deep cleaning to uphold sanitation standards and prevent product contamination.

Physical Requirements & Expectations:
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the team, demonstrating safe operational techniques as outlined in training.
  • Expected to arrive on time and remain on-site (except during breaks) throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 4 consecutive hours.
