UMass Amherst, a nationally ranked public research university, is seeking an exceptional academic faculty member to join the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunology and a passion for teaching and research.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous, independent, and externally funded research program focused on immunology. The position involves contributing to the teaching mission of the department by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in immunology and related subjects. A Ph.D., D.V.M./Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in Immunology or a closely related field is required. Experience with postdoctoral research and a strong publication record are also essential.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a vigorous, independent, and externally funded research program
  • Contribute to the teaching mission of the department by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Mentor and advise undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., D.V.M./Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in Immunology or a closely related field
  • Postdoctoral research experience and a strong publication record
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring
