Job Summary:

Archway Physician Recruitment is seeking a highly qualified Internal Medicine and ACMO Program Director to lead our Internal Medicine Residency Program in Gadsden, Alabama.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Program Director is responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of IM Program.
  • The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of such.
  • The Program Director is expected to support integration of the IM Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services.
  • Clinical Teaching and Supervision of Residents: Provide clinical teaching and supervision to residents in the IM Program.
  • Core Program Clinical Teaching: Develop and implement core clinical teaching curriculum for the IM Program.
  • General Administration: Oversee the administrative functions of the IM Program, including budgeting, personnel management, and facilities management.
  • GME Committees/Meetings: Participate in GME committees and meetings to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and to promote collaboration among GME programs.
  • GME Lecturing/Teaching Conferences: Develop and deliver lectures and teaching conferences for residents and faculty in the IM Program.
  • GME Recruiting/Interviewing: Participate in the recruitment and interviewing of residents for the IM Program.
  • GME Research/Scholarly Activity: Encourage and support research and scholarly activity among residents and faculty in the IM Program.
  • Resident Evaluation/Monitoring: Evaluate and monitor resident performance and progress in the IM Program.
  • Program Evaluation: Conduct regular evaluations of the IM Program to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Must have three to five years of Internal Medicine post-residency clinical experience as well as core faculty experience in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
  • A minimum of 3 years of GME teaching/administrative experience as Program Director or Associate Program Director is also required.
  • Inpatient and administrative experience is preferred.
