Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at GEODIS Group. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the internal and external facility conditions to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office spaces to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Empty trash and garbage containers to prevent odors and pests.
• Identify and report needed repairs, such as roof leaks and damaged dock shelters, to management.
• Replace air conditioner filters to ensure optimal air quality.
• Notify management of the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Maintain pest control devices and apply pesticides, rodenticides, and herbicides as needed.
• Clean offices, restrooms, and break rooms to maintain a healthy and comfortable work environment.
• Mow lawns and trim shrubbery to maintain a well-manicured appearance.
• Operate a tow motor to move a hopper if needed.
• Check pump houses to ensure proper functioning.
• Paint fire lanes to ensure safety.
• Inspect fire extinguishers to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Maintain walkways and sidewalks to prevent tripping hazards.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
• For food accounts, report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 months of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. This position will be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch as it relates to completing the above job duties. The employee may be required to occasionally lift up to 60 pounds. This position will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold.
