Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients, evaluating their level of function, and developing plans of care to improve their abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver occupational therapy services as prescribed by physicians and evaluate patient function using diagnostic and prognostic procedures.
  • Develop and implement patient plans of care for occupational therapy services, ensuring compliance with approved plans of treatment and care.
  • Guide patients in using therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities to improve function.
  • Document observations and activities in accordance with agency policy, notifying patient care managers and physicians of any changes in patient status.
  • Conduct in-service programs for agency personnel on occupational therapy roles and treatment programs as needed.
  • Supervise occupational therapy assistants and instruct patients, family members, and other healthcare team members in occupational therapy techniques.
  • Use activities and home exercise programs to improve range of motion, muscle strength, and coordination through passive/active exercise and/or activity.
  • Participate in case conferences and meetings as required.
  • Maintain required in-service training and attend/complete mandatory iServices.
