We're seeking a skilled Surgical Care Specialist to join our team at TotalMed. As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical outcomes.
About the Role
This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the operating room, assisting with surgical procedures, and maintaining patient safety. You'll prepare operating rooms for surgery, set up equipment, sterilize instruments, and ensure aseptic conditions are maintained. Your strong communication skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with surgical teams, anticipate their needs, and provide support during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration as needed.
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including setting up equipment and maintaining a sterile field.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to assist with procedures and maintain patient safety.
- Provide postoperative care, including wound care, monitoring recovery, and educating patients on self-care instructions.
Requirements
- Current RN license required.
- BLS certification and any additional certifications as required by the facility.
- At least 2 years of recent OR nursing experience.
- Strong communication and adaptability skills.
