Job Summary:
Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician Mechanic to join our team in Kirkwood, NY. As a Diesel Technician Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support.
- Utilize diagnostic computers and software to troubleshoot issues.
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
- Coach and mentor other technicians to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Perform facility maintenance duties, such as cleaning and organizing the shop.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
- Basic tools required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
- Four years or more of relevant work experience preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
