Job SummaryThe Occupational Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with mobility, cognition, and functional difficulties. This role involves evaluating patients, developing effective treatment plans, and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants to ensure seamless delivery of clinical services.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients for rehabilitation services within 24 to 48 hours of physician's orders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to achieve patient goals.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapy sessions and education on maintenance programs.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and provide guidance on clinical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical managers, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in patient care meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and plans.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards and maintain accurate documentation of patient care.
- Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff and provide education on restorative and functional maintenance programs.
- Recommend equipment and resources to support improved delivery of clinical services.
- Act as a clinical supervisor for affiliating Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant programs.
- Comply with Occupational Therapy licensure and certification standards.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state(s) where services are provided.
- Strong relationship-building skills and interpersonal communication.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving, analytical, and critical evaluation skills.
- Cultural awareness and ability to maintain confidentiality.
