We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Pharmacist to oversee our pharmacy operations as a Manager.
In this role, you will manage all facets of pharmacy operations, including patient care, administrative duties, and staff supervision. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient services, which include filling prescriptions, providing patient counseling, and supervising Pharmacy Technicians. It is essential to ensure that all services meet professional standards and comply with relevant laws.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties are typical for this position. They are not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned:
- Interpret prescriptions, check for potential drug interactions and allergies, and enter prescription and patient information into the system.
- Supervise the work of Pharmacy Technicians during the prescription filling process, ensuring accuracy.
- Ensure billing is accurate and compliant with insurance plans and pharmacy regulations.
- Provide patient counseling both in person and over the phone.
- Deliver essential information regarding medication usage and duration.
- Address patient inquiries effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and conduct necessary research to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform duties of Staff Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians as required.
- Maintain communication with the Regional Director of Operations regarding business operations and issues requiring management attention.
- Oversee daily store operations and patient care delivery.
- Provide necessary training for staff.
- Support company initiatives related to marketing and clinical programs.
- Engage in community outreach activities as needed.
- Maintain certification for immunizations and conduct clinics.
- Ensure compliance with state pharmacy licensing requirements.
- Exhibit punctuality and professionalism, serving as a role model for pharmacy staff.
- Foster positive relationships with patients and pharmacy personnel.
- Adhere to security and loss prevention protocols.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback to pharmacy staff.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for pharmacy personnel.
- Manage pharmacy staffing schedules.
- Resolve third-party billing issues as necessary.
- Prepare and maintain daily and weekly operational reports.
- Follow company procedures regarding dispensing incidents.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable laws.
- Mentor pharmacy students and provide a conducive learning environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee all pharmacy staff, directing and evaluating personnel in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and addressing any personnel issues.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) or Pharm.D degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
- Four to ten years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
