Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care for adult patients in clinical research studies, adhering to the standards and practices of MercyOne and the Cancer Center.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and study enrollment.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA regulations, NIH guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and NIC common toxicity definitions.
  • Participate in study budgeting and billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in clinical research.

Requirements:

  • Current or compact state license as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Three years of RN nursing experience required; two years of oncology nursing or critical care experience preferred.
  • Valid Iowa Driver's/Chauffeur's License required, meeting MercyOne's Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained by the end of the orientation period.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational skills, and ability to problem-solve and multi-task.
  • Working knowledge of study budgets and billing processes.
