Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at the Elmendorf facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for implementing and leading all functions of the Millwright, Pipe Fitting/Welding, Instrumentation/Electrical, and Support Craft disciplines. The successful candidate will focus on the effectiveness, reliability, and efficiency of our mechanical assets, ensuring work is done in a safe and environmentally sound working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of mechanics and a Maintenance Supervisor, promoting a culture of safety, inclusion, and teamwork.
  • Manage the mechanical integrity (MI) program, ensuring all mechanical equipment is maintained in accordance with ASME, ANSI, and API standards, as well as environmental regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and ISO and Responsible Care.
  • Develop and implement a reliability strategy, including PM optimization, spare parts, and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee the overall health of the maintenance work management process, driving KPIs with the team.
  • Manage efficient turnaround processes, including scoping, planning, execution, and closure.
  • Manage the maintenance department expense budget, preparing and controlling the expense budget for the department.
  • Create, update, and maintain process flow diagrams for all manufacturing systems, PIDs for all plant systems, and process safety management documentation related to manufacturing equipment.
  • Capital project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering.
  • 5 years of experience working in maintenance at a chemical/refining/petrochemical plant, with 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance work processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement systems.
  • Experience with implementing maintenance processes.
  • Experience with SAP.
