Mortgage Closer Job Description

The Mortgage Closer is a critical role in our team, responsible for ensuring a smooth loan closing process. This position requires effective communication with clients, borrowers, and internal staff to meet closing needs within established timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and generate closing documents according to client specifications, ensuring compliance requirements are satisfied.
  • Review and approve the Final HUD, collaborating closely with the designated Processor to resolve any issues.
  • Address closing issues, implement system changes, and expedite corrections to support scheduled closings.
  • Ensure all closing requirements are fulfilled within committed time frames.
  • Verify that all documentation is error-free before distributing closing packages.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Maintain customer service survey ratings at levels set by management.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in high-volume loan closings.
  • Familiarity with HARP and conventional loan closing documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of the latest HUD/RESPA/GFE compliance regulations.
  • Proficient in reviewing title commitments, validating closing conditions, and preparing and balancing HUD Statements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong computer skills in a paperless environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Availability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
