Pharmacist Specialist

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist Specialist to join our team in a Full-Time capacity at one of our correctional facilities in California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Pharmacist to provide expert clinical pharmacy services, including reviewing and verifying prescription orders, assessing medication regimens, and managing drug inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify prescription orders from authorized prescribers for completeness, correctness, and authenticity.
• Assess medication regimens against patient medical profiles for improper drug selection, under-dosage, and potential interactions.
• Manage and prepare medications, including compounding and dispensing.
• Provide consultations to medical staff and the Medical Authorization Review Committee.
• Supervise and maintain records of drugs, poisons, and narcotics.
• Implement and maintain medication delivery systems.
• Monitor and instruct Pharmacy Technicians in standard and routine phases of the work.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacist.
• Strong clinical pharmacy skills and knowledge of medication management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
