Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents in our long-term care facility. As a member of the nursing team, you will be responsible for delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of our residents, as outlined in their care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Offer psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as needed.
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if required.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces, as needed.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
