About the RoleThe Plant Operator will be responsible for operating the emulsion plant and supporting efficient and effective operations in the magazine area. This includes dispatching and receiving finished products, detonators, tubing, and raw materials in accordance with national codes and established safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in plant operation, mechanical maintenance, and equipment handling. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Operate the emulsion plant and support efficient and effective operations in the magazine area
- Dispatch and receive finished products, detonators, tubing, and raw materials
- Ensure accuracy of operation and maintain records as required
- Manage machinery and equipment breakdowns to minimize business interruption
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in plant operation, mechanical maintenance, and equipment handling
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and push/pull heavy equipment
Orica offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $29, with salary determined by experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Full-time employees are entitled to medical, prescription drug, dental, health savings account, flexible spending accounts, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program, voluntary legal plan, and nine scheduled holidays plus two floating holidays.
