Dance Instructor

The City of Roseville is seeking a skilled Dance Instructor to teach dance skills to participants at the Roseville School of Dance. As a lead instructor, you will be responsible for teaching dance classes using age and ability-appropriate skills, demonstrating excellent conduct, and maintaining a professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach dance classes using age and ability-appropriate skills
• Demonstrate exemplary conduct and maintain a professional demeanor
• Use appropriate classroom management skills
• Provide advance notice if unable to teach class
• Assist in choosing recital costumes
• Lead in a professional and courteous manner
• Attend required staff meetings
• Plan, choreograph, and execute dance performances for recital
• Work as a team player with co-workers
• Record weekly attendance

Requirements:

• Comprehension of ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical techniques and styles
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents
• Ability to relate to others in a professional manner
• Practice exceptional customer service
• Exhibit safety awareness and good judgment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• At least one year of experience instructing dance programs as a lead instructor

The position requires attendance at evening and weekend sessions to observe and/or teach. Estimated Salary: $21,120 - $29,180 per year (based on 20 hours per week)
