Job Title: Monitor

The Palmyra-Macedon Central School District is seeking a Monitor to provide support to our students and staff. As a Monitor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the day-to-day functions of the building/department are accomplished.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in supervising students during various activities, including recreation periods, lunch periods, study halls, field trips, and transportation of students.
  • Maintain order in areas such as gymnasiums, locker rooms, swimming pools, and hallways.
  • Maintain classroom routines and safety practices in and around school transportation vehicles and district buildings.
  • Oversee students passing between classes, in locker rooms, and on premises before and after school.
  • Issue athletic supplies and equipment, and assist children in lower grades with wearing apparel and in the cafeteria.
  • Perform clerical duties under close supervision and render basic first aid treatment when needed.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Able to work well with others as a team.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good general intelligence, ability to establish good relationships with children and others, familiarity with classroom routine, and above-average clerical aptitude.

The Monitor will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The ability to maintain a positive attitude, remain calm under pressure, and provide excellent customer service is essential.
