Blood Product Distribution Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Blood Product Distribution Specialist to join our team at OneBlood. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of blood products to our hospital partners.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tasks related to the distribution duties for the management of whole blood and blood components, adhering to OneBlood's standard operating procedures. They may also be required to perform duties related to other Biologics functions, including manufacturing and transportation of blood, blood products, and specimens.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring suitability and accurate labeling of products for release and distribution
- Performing data entry associated with component production, labeling, storage, and shipping to ensure accurate and complete manufacturing records
- Manufacturing, storing, and distributing blood and blood products
- Operating, maintaining, and performing quality control checks on equipment
- Performing quarantine and disposition of unacceptable products and/or samples and performing quality control on blood products
- Ensuring adequate inventory of required supplies
- Providing customer service to internal and external customers and vendors
- May operate a OneBlood courier vehicle when applicable
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have:
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent and proficient computer skills. Prior customer service, laboratory, blood bank manufacturing, or logistics experience is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Designations:
A current and valid driver's license in good standing is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to organize work for timely completion
- Ability to multitask while maintaining the safety of blood components
- Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and those contacted in the course of work
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Skill in operating office equipment and technology
- Ability to report to work during a disaster, public health emergency, or other catastrophic event
Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
