Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exercise Preparation: Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during physical therapy sessions with patients, taking into account individual needs and goals.
  • Counseling and Consultations: Provide counseling and consultations for new patients, their family members, and caregivers, offering support and guidance throughout the treatment process.
  • Patient Progression: Follows goals and objectives for patients set by the physical therapist to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Direct Patient Care: Assist physical therapists in direct patient care according to their respective plans of care, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare equipment and exam rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Documentation: Complete required documentation in a reasonable timely manner, accurately recording patient information and treatment progress.
  • Continuing Education: Attend continuing education courses and work to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Licensure: Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Texas, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in computer software commonly used for documentation and report preparation, efficiently managing electronic health records and other administrative tasks.
  • Educational Background: Associate degree in Physical Therapy is required, providing a solid foundation for professional growth and development.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Demonstrates knowledge and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws, respecting patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Professional Demeanor: Experienced in working with sensitive and personal patient records and information, demonstrating a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with patients, family members, or other staff members.
  • Physical Demands: Physical endurance and the ability to work primarily in a standing position and lift at least 50 lbs, ensuring adaptability to changing work environments and demands.
  • Attention to Detail: Accountability and attention to detail is essential when handling and documenting important medical information, guaranteeing accurate and reliable data management.
