The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for providing IT support services across various tiers, ensuring that reliable and secure services are accessible to all users. This role may also involve offering strategic recommendations regarding plans and policies to maintain system operations, upkeep, and security in alignment with best practices and regulatory standards. The administrator will supervise daily mission activities and provide ongoing updates to management and government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend regular meetings to provide updates on program status and user satisfaction to leadership.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports to management and fulfill internal deliverables as required.
  • Assist management by tracking, developing, and delivering program outputs promptly.
  • Act as the primary contact for quality assurance in contract activities and compliance with ISO standards.
  • Configure desktop and notebook hardware to deliver baseline support.
  • Manage Vulnerability Management Services for a substantial number of Windows operating systems.
  • Utilize provided reports for system management.
  • Collaborate with personnel to verify patch advertisements.
  • Repair clients as necessary to ensure successful patch installations.
  • Generate and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) as needed.
  • Install and set up Operating Systems and essential applications for networked devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues related to desktops and laptops.
  • Establish user profiles, including email configurations and printer/network drive mappings.
  • Install and configure Operating Systems and applications for server hardware.
  • Provide user access support, create accounts, assist with initial logins, and manage password changes.
  • Schedule and execute software and hardware upgrades in accordance with security guidelines.
  • Configure and maintain organizational printing and copying devices.
  • Ensure that helpdesk staff are adequately trained and contributing effectively.
  • Oversee weekend or holiday work schedules to ensure proper time management.
  • Manage onboarding processes for new customers.
  • Assist with IT logistics, including inventory management and equipment setups.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in system administration or equivalent experience (4+ years) in lieu of degree.
  • 7+ years of technical experience in helpdesk operations or administration.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 (minimum Security+ certification).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Red Hat Linux, and various Windows Server versions.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance is mandatory.
