About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Interactive Resources - iR in Austin, Texas. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data pipelines to extract and integrate data from various sources using Azure, Snowflake, and cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement data pipelines to extract and integrate data from various sources using Azure, Snowflake, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Data Modeling: Develop data models that provide actionable insights, optimize operational efficiency, and track key performance metrics.
  • Data Management: Oversee and manage both inbound and outbound data processes, ensuring effective monitoring and seamless integration of new data feeds into our clients' ecosystem.
  • Agile Development: Thrive in an Agile environment as part of a scrum team, delivering high-quality products incrementally and iteratively.
  • Code Development: Write code adhering to Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles to uphold the highest data quality standards as defined by stakeholders.
  • Data Testing: Automate data testing procedures and integrate them with existing monitoring systems.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Application Engineering, DBA, Infrastructure, and the Project Management Office.
  • Business Analysis: Analyze current (including legacy) systems and data sets to assist Business Analysts in defining both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • User Support: Engage with users to resolve data-related technical issues and support their infrastructure needs.
Requirements
  • Cloud Experience: Extensive experience with Azure Cloud Services, including Data Factory, SQL Database, Functions, Data Lake, Databricks, Logic Apps, and Azure Automation.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in object-oriented and functional programming languages such as Python, Scala, and C#.
  • SQL Expertise: Advanced expertise in SQL Server, including writing complex SQL scripts, profiling, and performance optimization.
  • Business Intelligence: Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau and PowerBI.
  • Big Data Experience: Experience with Big Data technologies, including Spark, Snowflake, and Kafka.
  • API Development: Experience in API creation and utilization.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
