Job Summary

The Commercial Credit Analyst II position at Third Coast Bank is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to join our team. As a key member of our credit analysis department, you will play a crucial role in evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and ensuring the bank's lending decisions are sound.

About the Role

This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer and is responsible for analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to determine the risk associated with potential loans. You will work closely with loan officers to ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, and that loan requests are properly evaluated and presented to senior management.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to determine the creditworthiness of potential borrowers.
  2. Evaluate the risk associated with potential loans and provide recommendations to loan officers and senior management.
  3. Ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, and that loan requests are properly evaluated and presented to senior management.
  4. Partner with lenders to complete credit memorandums and annual reviews for large borrowers.
  5. Collaborate with senior credit officers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Credit Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university; and more than or equal to two (2) years of credit analyst experience in a financial institution.
  • Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in credit analyst activities and terminology.
  • Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; and word processing, spreadsheet and account opening software programs.
  • Advanced math skills, including time value of money calculations.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
