Position Overview:
In the capacity of Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the electrical design team on significant institutional and industrial projects through the schematic design and contract documentation phases.
  • Organizing meetings and engaging in reviews with various regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Managing workloads to ensure timely completion of project documentation.
  • Conducting work sessions at project sites alongside the Project Manager and other disciplines.
  • Reviewing electrical documents to identify conflicts across all disciplines.
  • Writing and editing electrical specifications while selecting appropriate equipment, systems, and devices.
  • Collaborating with and supporting other disciplines regarding addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, ensuring agreed modifications are reflected in project documents.
  • Providing construction contract administration as required.
  • Conducting quality assurance and quality control on the work of fellow Electrical Engineers, Coordinators, or Technicians.
  • Performing additional duties as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
We seek candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in electrical design for buildings, including lighting, power, and systems. Experience in an architectural/engineering or consulting firm is advantageous. Interest or experience in sustainable design or LEED certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical focus.
  • Prior experience in electrical design for buildings (lighting/power/systems).
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and EasyPower.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.
