Culinary Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our team at Healthcare Services Group. As a key member of our dining services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality food preparation and presentation for our residents and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve food, including texture modified and therapeutic diets, following facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Assist in assuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are followed.
• Support the Dining Services Director and Dietary Aide as needed, and direct other employees with approval.
• Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions and follow safety precautions when mixing and using cleaning solutions.
• Ensure established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met, and follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures.
• Respond to the paging system in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Positively represent HCSG by following instructions, being courteous, and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, and client staff.
• Interact with residents, staff, and facility guests in a positive, pleasant, and tactful manner.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.
• After completing all appropriate training, utilize leadership skills to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food preparation preferred.
• May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
• Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification required based on State/County law.
• Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
• Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
• Must live in the service area.
