Dryer Operator Job Description

At Fresh Express, we are seeking a skilled Dryer Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for transporting products from trim lines into dryers and from dryers into hoppers via barrels and totes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport products safely and efficiently between trim lines, dryers, and hoppers.
  • Operate dryer apparatus, including barrels, dollies, hoists, dryers, and hoppers.
  • Follow proper blending procedures to ensure maximum drying efficiency and product quality.
  • Modify machine settings as needed to meet product specifications.
  • Ensure the proper product dries correctly and is then added to the correct hopper per the production schedule.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to the floor coordinator or supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
  • Ability to continuously lift/push/pull barrels of product with assistance from a hydraulic hoist.
  • Physical requirements: must be able to stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours or more), perform repetitive motions throughout the shift, and bend continuously throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work 6 consecutive days, overtime, and weekends if necessary.
  • Ability to climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift.
  • Ability to count and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to pass a physical strength test and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a similar temperature/strenuous work environment.
  • Receptive to training and ability to learn new procedures.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
