Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Soap Creek Resources. This is a full-time position responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Track and manage spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment used for repairs, maintaining accurate records and inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas and as needed across the plant, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Interface with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems) for preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, inventory, and purchasing, ensuring seamless communication and data management.
  • Have working knowledge of pumps, valves, centrifuges, conveyors, rolling stock, plant air systems, hydraulics, and grain handling equipment, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Adhere to Plant Safety Programs, including Safe Work Permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hot Works, and Line Break permits, prioritizing employee safety and well-being.
  • Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including head, eye, ear, hand, and fall protection, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Complete all required safety training, staying compliant with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Contribute to scheduled plant maintenance outages, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Operate rolling stock equipment: Pay Loader, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, and Forklifts, demonstrating proficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a two-year degree from a technical/vocational school, equivalent training, or 3 years of work experience in a technical or maintenance field.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS programs, ensuring seamless communication and data management.
  • Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanical repairs, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Competence with basic office software, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights, with occasional exposure to high noise environments.
  • Must work in all outdoor weather conditions, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs, with regular physical activity required.
