About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Science Intern to join our team at Transcard Payments LLC. As a Data Science Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, gain hands-on experience with data engineering, and contribute to the development of our data science department.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of data engineering projects, including data warehouse optimization and business intelligence/reporting.
  • Work on fraud detection, automation, and data science projects, with guidance from our Director of Engineering - Artificial Intelligence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop solutions.
  • Contribute to the improvement of our data science department through project work and feedback.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in SQL, databases, and related coursework/class projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity in projects.
  • Availability to work on-site in the Chattanooga office at least 3 days a week.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently from direct supervisor as needed.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Certifications
  • Completed or currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or Information Technology degree.
  • Preferred Data Science or Data Analytics degree.
