We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Triage/Intake Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Forest View Hospital. As a key member of our Admissions and Referral Center (ARC), you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care and support during the intake process.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical history, current medications, and health updates to ensure a seamless transition to the unit.
- Develop and maintain trust and rapport with patients and their families through empathetic and professional communication.
- Document patients' medical history and findings as part of the assessment and admissions process.
- Accompany patients to the unit and assist with the transition process.
- Perform duties with frequent interruptions, in close quarters, and under time constraints in a professional manner.
- Maintain current knowledge of legal aspects of nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Handle incoming crisis calls, make referrals, and complete assessments as needed.
- Current license to practice nursing in the state of Michigan (or eligible to receive or renew).
- Previous Psychiatric Nursing or Assessment experience.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
