Role Summary:

The substitute educator at Faith Bible Christian School is expected to exemplify, uphold, and promote the institution's mission of nurturing Christ-like character, encouraging academic excellence, and preparing students to serve others through a Biblical lens. In the absence of the regular instructor, the substitute educator is tasked with maintaining a learning environment that aligns with the school's dedication to fostering academic growth, promoting critical and Biblical thinking, and guiding students to lead lives that reflect their faith.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a close, personal relationship with the Lord and serving as a credible Christian role model in all aspects of life.
  • Supporting and adhering to the school's Statement of Faith.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of Biblical teachings and integrating Scripture into the curriculum to shape a Biblical worldview.
  • Establishing and enforcing classroom behavior standards.
  • Preparing lesson plans, units, and projects to meet educational objectives.
  • Setting and communicating clear goals for lessons, units, and projects.
  • Adapting instructional methods and materials to cater to diverse student interests and learning styles.
  • Encouraging students to explore educational opportunities and career paths.
  • Creating, assigning, and evaluating various assessments, including tests, quizzes, essays, and projects.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Monitoring and assessing student academic performance.
  • Facilitating parent-teacher conferences.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Managing student behavior effectively.
  • Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Maintaining regular communication with parents.
  • Assisting students in enhancing their study techniques and habits.
  • Administering assessments to gauge student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to various student learning needs.
  • Knowledge of educational psychology, learning styles, and effective teaching strategies.
