Role Summary:
Manage and oversee project cost accounting with precision and timeliness for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Guidance

  • Receive broad directives concerning key objectives, critical issues, and policy matters while independently applying extensive knowledge across various assignments. Review staff outputs for quality assurance.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure project cost accounting aligns with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Act as a bridge between operational teams and various corporate accounting functions.
  • Analyze key performance metrics to support management and identify areas for continuous improvement.

Execution of Duties

  • Identify and resolve project-related issues effectively.
  • Reconcile and analyze project cost reports for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Controller to generate various account reports.
  • Coordinate with project billers and managers to ensure project setups are accurate and compliant with procedures.
  • Maintain and update client and consultant budgets, including scope, pricing, and change orders.
  • Utilize business management skills to review project and operational performance.
  • Set up new projects and manage the monthly invoicing process.
  • Review vendor and subcontractor invoices.
  • Engage with customers regarding overdue balances and facilitate collections.
  • Assist the Senior Account Manager in collection efforts as necessary.
  • Prepare accounts with outstanding balances for escalation as needed.
  • Generate management reports related to collections and accounts receivable.
  • Draft correspondence concerning collections and accounts receivable issues.
  • Support annual financial audit preparations as required.
  • Reconcile petty cash accounts and manage daily cash receipts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of seven years of corporate accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction accounting is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP is essential.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision is preferred; experience with an ERP system is required.
  • Full cycle accounts payable exposure is necessary.
  • Prior experience with mergers and acquisitions is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Primarily an indoor professional office setting.
  • Mobility within an office environment is necessary.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling of items up to 20 pounds.
