Medical Physicist

Ascension is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team in Radiation Oncology. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of care in the use of radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment, while protecting patients and staff from radiation.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Perform required calibrations on equipment and recommend new equipment and products for the department.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct equipment performance reviews as needed and implement quality control procedures for imaging devices.
- Radiation Safety Education: Educate staff in radiation safety practices and support all physics aspects of patient treatment.
- Treatment Planning and Design: Consult with radiation oncologists, calculate radiation doses, design and fabricate treatment aids, and assure the accuracy of treatment plans.
- Credentialing: Medical Physicist credentialed from the American Board of Radiology obtained within 36 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education and Experience: D in medical physics and two years work experience or graduation from a diagnostic imaging physics residency.
- Certification: American Board of Radiology certification in Radiologic Medical Physics.
