Job Description:

The Material Control Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. This position is responsible for loading and unloading, packing and unpacking, auditing, general housekeeping, kitting, inbound processing, scanning orders, shipping and receiving, put-a-way, data entry into computerized inventory control systems, and inventory control.

Key responsibilities include the proper storage and flow of material into and out of the Warehouse, performing inventory stock checks and cycle counting as required, and interfacing with warehouse personnel to measure and ensure inventory accuracy. The Materials Control Manager relies on this team member to negotiate and process returns, credits, and advance replacements as needed.

This position also involves ensuring accuracy of requested count and part numbers requested for all material received and shipped via Tech's major carriers, continually thinking of best shipping methods to meet the customers' timelines while reducing waste or extra shipping costs, distributing product throughout Tech's complex as needed, and complying with and strictly adhering to company safety guidelines and/or company safety policies in performing assigned job duties.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Three years of warehouse experience utilizing computer techniques
  • Experience with automated material transaction processing
  • Two years' experience using computer systems, including MS Office
