Position Overview:

  • Join a community-focused emergency department that serves rural populations, where the quality of care is highly valued. Our facility integrates modern medical technology with the unique challenges faced in rural healthcare, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  • Physicians will be responsible for performing a variety of procedures and managing cases that are typically addressed by larger teams in urban hospitals. Essential certifications include ATLS, ACLS, and PALS, with a strong emphasis on the use of advanced POCUS, intubation techniques, central line placements, and chest tube insertions.
  • Enjoy flexible scheduling options with a commitment of up to 144 hours per month, while maintaining a minimum of 120 hours for full-time status. Opportunities for PRN and part-time work are also available.
  • Work primarily 12-hour shifts with single coverage, receiving support from Advanced Practice Providers during the day and operating solo at night. Pediatric cases are primarily referred to specialized centers.
  • The department is equipped with 24/7 CT ultrasound capabilities, glide scopes, and manages a trauma level 4, with an annual patient volume of approximately 13,000 visits and a total of 49 beds.
  • Shifts are predominantly during nights and weekends, with the potential for daytime hours to cover for PTO. Advanced Practice Providers primarily manage the fast track, assisting the main emergency department during peak times.
  • Compensation is competitive at $275 per hour for daytime shifts and $280 per hour for nights and weekends, including professional liability insurance with tail coverage under a 1099 arrangement. Travel and lodging expenses are fully covered.
  • Applicants must possess current ATLS certification and ABEM certification.
