Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team at Fresh Express. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration equipment, chilled water systems, and other related systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment, chilled water systems, and other related systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Respond to emergency calls and take corrective action to prevent system downtime.
  • Work effectively in a team setting to achieve maintenance goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with production and other mechanics to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Perform daily inspections and routine adjustments to ensure system efficiency and safety.
  • Participate in safety teams and maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a refrigeration operator in a fresh food processing environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical power maintenance and process controls troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with cooling processes, ammonia refrigeration, vacuum pumps, refrigeration compressors, condensers, purging, and water treatment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and communicate effectively with production and other mechanics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems experience.
  • Experience with HVAC system operation and maintenance.
  • Food processing industry experience.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish/Vietnamese/Cambodian).
  • Ability to use Microsoft computer programs: Outlook, Word, Excel.
Work Environment

Routinely exposed to wet/cold conditions and high, precarious places. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift. Must be able to push/pull/lift and/or move 50 pounds. Must operate powered industrial equipment, hand, and power tools skillfully and safely.
