Job Summary

CommuniCare Family of Companies is seeking a qualified Medication Assistant to provide exceptional resident care and medication administration services in our long-term care centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications in accordance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations
  • Monitor and report any discrepancies in medication administration
  • Provide personal care and treatment functions for residents
  • Perform basic nursing care functions as required
  • Prepare monthly medication records and maintain resident documentation

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and graduate within 120 days
  • Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state-approved training course
  • Ability to perform basic math functions and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
