Job Overview

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Waxahachie, Texas.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will function in the interoperative phase of patient care, expediting surgical procedures under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role requires the ability to set up operating rooms according to surgical procedure schedules, arrange sterile setups, and ensure the proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up operating rooms for various surgical procedures, including preparation of instrument tables and supply arrangements
  • Ensure the proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment during procedures
  • Prepare the operative site by aseptically cleaning and shaving
  • Clean the operating room following each case and return equipment to storage areas
  • Maintain inventory of clean and sterilized surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A successful completion of Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited OR other nationally accredited surgical technologist program
  • Holds and maintains certification as a CST surgical technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the operating room environment
