Overview

The Staten Island Care Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Unit Manager. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and delivering high-quality patient care.

Salary

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of up to $60 per hour, based on experience, in addition to opportunities for growth and professional development.

Job Description

This leadership position involves assisting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the Nursing Department's daily activities, supervising nursing staff, and conducting regular rounds to monitor performance and resident care. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing personalized care plans, completing annual evaluations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal staffing levels and quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations and ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Lead and supervise nursing staff, promoting best practices and facility protocols.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor staff performance and resident care.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans to enhance resident well-being.
  • Complete annual evaluations and perform staff counseling, hiring, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Ensure optimal staffing levels across all shifts.
  • Collaborate with MDS teams for thorough assessments and timely documentation.
  • Support Quality Assurance initiatives and conduct audits to enhance care quality.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have an active, unencumbered RN license in New York State, a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, and at least 2 years in a leadership position within a skilled nursing facility. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
