Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our MedTech Epidemiology and Real-World Data Science team at Johnson & Johnson. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading programming efforts, including statistical programming and analysis of real-world data studies to support the generation of clinical evidence for post-market clinical follow-up activities to meet regulatory requirements, patient safety, clinical, medical, and research and development (R&D) functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with colleagues in MedTech Epidemiology, offshore programmers, Medical Safety, Medical Affairs, Scientific and Clinical Affairs, and R&D to drive project success.
  • Lead the statistical programming of epidemiologic studies using real-world data, with a focus on RWE studies to meet regulatory requirements, particularly European Union Medical Device Regulation (EU-MDR) requirements for proactive surveillance.
  • Develop study protocols, data specifications, and study reports, as needed, using a variety of analytical techniques applied to various databases, and strategize regarding research programs.
  • Leverage epidemiology methods to address emerging safety signals and queries.
  • Participate in various activities across the MedTech business units (DePuy Synthes, Ethicon, and Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions), the larger cross-sector Epidemiology Department, and the Office of Chief Medical Officer.
Qualifications
  • PhD with at least 2 years of Epidemiology programming or related research work experience.
  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Health Outcomes Research, Biostatistics, or other related field with at least 4 years of Epidemiology or related research work experience in healthcare.
  • Experience using a statistical programming language (e.g. SAS, R, SQL, STATA).
  • Experience using healthcare databases, registries, observational study design.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting quantitative data.
  • Experience writing epidemiology protocols and study reports.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and working in matrix teams.
  • Epidemiology or related research work experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device and Diagnostics industries is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience authoring peer-reviewed publications (abstracts, posters, and manuscripts) using real-world datasets is preferred.
