Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Faculty Member - Specialty Medicine to join our team at Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching medical students, directing pre-clinical and clinical courses, and performing scholarly activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Education
    • Teach medical students in pre-clinical and clinical courses
    • Develop and implement curricula that integrate specialty areas
    • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs
  • Scholarly Activities
    • Conduct research and scholarly activities in a field of expertise
    • Supervise and encourage student participation in research endeavors
  • Service and Administration
    • Participate in faculty development and peer review
    • Conduct prospective student interviews and participate in interviews for potential new hires
    • Advise students on academic, curricular, and career matters
Requirements
  • DO (from a COCA-accredited medical school) or MD
  • Board certification by the appropriate AOA or ACGME specialty board
  • Substantial record of success as an educator with experience in teaching foundational concepts
  • Experience with curricular and instructional design and training
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills
