The Chief Operations Officer is a key leadership position at Pender County Schools, responsible for overseeing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires a strong understanding of construction, facilities management, transportation, and child nutrition, as well as excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Oversee and manage facilities, maintenance, transportation, and child nutrition operations
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and other senior leaders to develop and implement district-wide initiatives
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective use of district funds
- Develop and maintain relationships with local government agencies, architects, engineers, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and district policies
- Provide leadership and guidance to department staff to ensure effective execution of operational responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Extensive experience in facilities management, construction, and transportation
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
The Chief Operations Officer will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. The position will involve frequent travel to schools and district offices, as well as occasional work outdoors in various weather conditions.
