Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at MedStar Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients for laboratory testing. This is a PRN position, requiring flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood and other specimens from patients using venipuncture or capillary collection methods.
- Accurately identify and verify patient information and specimen labels.
- Order laboratory testing and communicate results to patients and healthcare providers as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient comfort and safety during specimen collection.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate specimen processing.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience or National Healthcare Association Phlebotomy certification required.
- ASCP or ASPT certification preferred.
- CPR certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire.
