We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures and assisting physicians with patients undergoing various cardiac and vascular procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and prepare medications under direct physician order for procedures.
- Monitor patient ECG and blood pressure, documenting and advising physicians of any activity in a timely manner.
- Coordinate laboratory procedural schedules with patient demand and physician schedules.
- Act as the laboratory's code team, initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillators under physician supervision.
- Document all procedures performed and utilize inventory control systems.
- Escort patients safely to appropriate departments.
- Apply electrocautery and ablation pads under physician supervision.
- Instruct radiography students in patient positioning, technique selection, and equipment manipulation.
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic monitoring.
- Prepare entry sites for procedures using sterile technique.
- Participate in inventory management and support the development of level I & II technologists.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography.
- Current West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technologist License or applicable state licensure.
- Obtain certification in ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) Certification, Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) Certification, or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV) Certification.
- Five years' experience in Cardiac/Vascular Interventional Lab.
- Proficient in three or more specialties as defined by the department.
- Obtain Dysthymia course certification through WVU Medicine within one year of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to sit for extended periods, lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 pounds, and work in a setting with moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
