You may be required to first assist in the OR or perform other department-specific procedures. Additionally, you may facilitate on-call responsibilities for your supervising physician.
Key Responsibilities- Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interpret test results for deviations from normal.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, and managing infection.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in the provision of continuity of care.
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance and other relevant patient education.
- Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by start date.
- Physician Assistant License (California) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
- National Provider Identifier required at hire.
- Physician Assistant National Certificate required at hire.
