We are seeking a skilled Certified Hand Therapist to join our team at Premier Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. As a Certified Hand Therapist, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation and management of hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder injuries.
Job Summary:
- Provide patient care in accordance with established protocols and patient care guidelines.
- Responsible for timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
- Responsible for documenting in a compliant fashion that is in accordance with company policy and state federal guidelines.
- Responsible for assuring that patients are treated promptly in accordance with their scheduled appointments.
- Responsible for conveying to patients the importance of complying with established plans of care, including home exercise programs and minimizing cancellations and no-show appointments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, and activities of daily living.
- Coordinate participation in sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients or disabled persons develop or regain physical or mental functions or adjust to disabilities.
- Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to select activity programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of individuals and to coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities.
- Select constructive activities suited to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest to upgrade individuals to maximum independence, prepare individuals for return to employment, assist in restoration of functions, and aid in adjustment to disability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist, or eligible to be a licensed as Occupational Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania required.
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) License required.
